This project focus on the shortage of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) equipments in industrial automatic control system, proposing a new kind of embedded solution based on Proview which is not only a soft PLC but also open source software (OSS) in Linux. The paper describes the process control principle and the structure in Proview. Pay attention to the critical problems and hot spot in the trade. To get accuracy control, advanced distributed control system (DCS) structure and proportional integral differential (PID) control are adopted. Some I/O configuration, hardware design circuit, and some of ladder diagram control procedures are provided. At last, on site testing was preformed to analysis whether it can achieve the desired objectives or not.There are 2 main categories in this project, including hardware selection and software development. To the hardware selection, various kinds of sensors and modules are selected. Such as Siemens S7-200 I/O modules, position sensors, weighing sensors, industrial field bus, electric relay, contactor, and motor. Utilizing these modules the project fulfilled automatic control transformation. While to the software development, the open source software Proview is adopted. According to the actual environment we designed an automatic solution that fitting for the site situation. Given that Proview is a new kind of open source software all over the world, which is not used widely. We analyzed PLC solution and designed a relatively perfect solution. It controls the actual process control by process station. In the mean time, it realizes the process station real time monitoring and gathers the information for further research. At last the data is stored in the storage station. This paper analyses principle and approaches for each section in which to cooperate well between stations is the key point. In the software, distributed control system is adopted to fulfill monitor and control that can greatly save labor and avoid misoperation.After the phases of laboratory debugging, on site testing, and trouble shooting, we get the testing result that each station cooperates well. The system runs stably, operates flexibly with expansibility. It is possible for remote control because of DCS. And for this soft PLC solution it is easy to copy because of format programming. Our next job is to do the deeper research in Ethernet to build large scale industrial Ethernet.This thesis originates from the Science & Technology program in Gansu province "Automation Reformation in traditional small-and middle-sized machinery processing enterprises based on Proview" project, Fund approval number:1304GKCA018.
