With the development of economy, automatic batching weighing system has beenwidely used in the industrial and agricultural production of rubber, cash printing, oilink, chemistry and food. This paper mainly aims at control system and control methodof the batching technique in the rubber industry, realizes adaptive control of batchingweighing process, and improves the production efficiency and weighing accuracy ofthe batching technique. The main content of this paper includes the design of the wholebatching control system structure, the realization of control level and managementlevel, the basic principle and method of adaptive control, the research of dropprediction.First of all, according to the deficiencies of the existing batching weighing system,we establish two level computer control scheme in which personal computer as themanagement level and PLC as the control level. The management level using Delphiand SQL server2000database technology, realizes the production monitor of system,continuous downstream of the recipes, records and management of data in theproduction process. The control level using reliable programmable logic controller,controls the operation of the whole control system. The whole control system isconsists of the management level, control level and intelligent devices (vibrationcontroller, inverter, weighing instrument etc.). Due to the differences in theperformance of vibration feeder, it can’t work in the best performance under thecontrol of conventional vibration controller50Hz output, so we develop a vibrationcontroller which can adjust frequency. MPI and Profibus-DP communication technologies were applied in the control system which improves the communicationquality and ensures the quality of the whole control system.Secondly, we analyze various factors which influence the weighing process. Onthis basis, the adaptive reference model based on the feeding speed is established.Because of the influence of feeder nonlinear, material properties and environmentchange, the application of conventional control method is difficult to achieve thesystem control requirements. Therefore, we develop a single neuron adaptive controller,the controller’s parameters can automatically adjust and modify in the control process,so that the feeding speed changes adaptively. And with the combination ofmulti-station drop predictive control, the production efficiency and weighing accuracyof system are improved.Finally, compared with the application effect of traditional control method, theapplication of adaptive control method developed in this paper can effectively improvethe production efficiency and weighing accuracy. This scheme can also be someguidance and reference to the batching weighing system on many other fields.
