Modern engineering equipment constantly develops into large-scale, high-performance automation and high-performance aspects, the problems of vibration and noise have become increasingly prominent. Therefore, vibration testing and analysis has become a very important part in modern mechanical industrial technology. For that, this paper develops a common system for vibration measurement and analysis, based on PC for hardware platform and LabVIEW for software platform, together with the necessary sensor, charge amplifier and data acquisition card, signal data collected by the data acquisition system will be transferred to the host computer for processing, analyzing and displaying and so on.Firstly, the paper studies the development of the current situation at home and abroad using virtual instrument vibration testing, then, emphatically studies the design of the hardware and software of the system.The system hardware mainly studies the basic hardware configuration and hardware base. In the study of system software, each modules of test system have be designed by using the modularization design idea, finally, the system can be operated and controlled on the PC end by user interface based on LabVIEW. After the completion of system development, the hardware and software systems have been tested, and three results of the experimental measurements, the FEM analysis, the theoretical calculated and the reasons of errors are comparatively analyzed. Finally, according to the needs of the project, the system would be applied to the damping analysis of automobile brake system damping unit and inspection of weld quality.In short, it has proved that this system not only can meet the requirements of the test tasks and achieve the desired design goals, but also has goog expansibility, higher cost and wide application.
