| The environment has become a very hot topic in the NPC and CPPCC. People pay more and more attention to the environment. This paper selected People’s Daily articles as research subjects which is the most authoritative organ in China. This paper use content analysis and text analysis methods. All the texts reported from 2002 to 2015 on environment were input to statistical analysis. This paper explored the way to present environmental issues, the way to thinking and why they thought in this way and the changes have taken place over years. Positive influences the reports have made on our society was also researched. Finally, this paper summed up the deficiencies in reports and the development direction in the future.Through the summary analysis, found that the number of the People’s Daily reported on environment issues in general is on the rise, report topic closely linked to policy. The headlines are simple or complex and less use of rhetorical devices. Where the articles reported were important news forum and special forum for the NPC and CPPCC. Different periods published different reports on environmental issues and it is closely relative to government working report in that year. Reported that there have been some changes, the importance of environmental issues continue to be strengthened but the reports at their core is still political and economic. Environmental issues reported increasingly close to people’s lives and people enhance the sense of participation. Reported from the fragmented distribution in each column layout changed to the special edition reports.it fully emphasized the importance of environment. People’s Daily reported on environmental issues so that environmental issues are addressed in some areas and let the local media recognized the importance of the environment. It had a positive impact. People’s Daily reported that environmental issues is not the presentation of subjective decisions, but the results of political factors, economic factors, demographics, science and technology combined with the People’s Daily function and position and the content in the NPC and CPPCC. The reportage about environment issues reported by People’s Daily during the two sessions still have some problems, for example, report only what is good while concealing what is unpleasant and the report mode does not innovate. It is a good way to set up the environmental character between citizens to increase the affinity of reports. It is also important to promote the specialization level of coverage and actively promote the linkage with new media. |
