Personal Digital Archives Management

Since 1980s, with the growing popularity of personal computer, tablet, smart mobile phone and the Internet, as well as QQ, WeChat, Email, Facebook, Twitter, micro-blog gradually into people’s lives, people have accumulated a number of digital information resources from work, life, learning, entertainment and communication, how do people manage and use the digital information resources (such as personal e-mail, digital photos, digital audio, digital video, digital document and webpage)? There is not a clear answer. Since the popularization of the Internet, smart mobile phone and tablet is short in our country, coupled with the users of these products are mostly young people, the concept of personal digital archives, personal digital archives management and other issues has not yet attracted people’s attention. Now we are talking about the personal digital archives management issues, with strong research value and practical significance. This paper discusses the types of digital asset accumulated by people, how people think about lack and loss, and how these concepts can be transformed to maintain security strategy of digital archives, either at home or in the cloud storage.This article is divided into seven parts:Chapter Ⅰ mainly introduces the research background of personal digital archives, personal digital archives research present situation, research purpose and significance, research methods.Chapter Ⅱ mainly introduces the identification of personal digital archives, summarizes the concept of personal digital archives through comparison of concepts related to personal digital archives, and then introduces the personal digital archives management theory.Chapter Ⅲ begins with the preparation before the collection of personal digital archives, puts forward the concept of personal digital archives collection, finally, expounds the source, scope and way of collecting the personal digital archives.Chapter Ⅳ mainly introduces the principle and method of personal digital archives identification and the time for keeping personal digital archives.Chapter Ⅴ discusses personal digital archives management and storage problems, and recommends some tools of personal digital archives management and preservation.Chapter VI is mainly about the development and utilization of personal digital archives information resources, discusses the development obstacles, the function of personal digital archives, and lists some cases of usage of personal digital archives.The last part makes a brief review of this thesis, and points out the limitations and disadvantages of this research.
