The science periodical for children is the main media channel which they get the science knowledge, scientific literacy and interests. As the cultural system improving and the new media growing up quickly, the position of the traditional periodicals is been challenged. As you know, before, the development of the traditional periodical was relying on the administrative power and government channel badly. During their transition process, There are a lot of problems are showing up, such as the old conception, low quality, unsuitable for the children’s psychology and reading demands, which cause the reader losing and low competitiveness. So the main point of the paper is about how to improve the children periodicals’quality and attraction, let them fit the audiences’need well.Before I make the paper, I make myself the audience, by studying the data of the questionnaire of the periodical Discovery, researching the performance of the difficult of its dissemination in the children’s science periodical, analyzing the reasons both of the publisher and the audiences, to find the way to solve the problem between the children’s periodicals and the audiences.Chapter one is the introduction which explain the research background and meaning of the paper. In it, I clear some notions such as’The children’s science periodicals’,’The audiences of the children’s science periodicals’, and ’The audience obstacles’, tease some literature material of which relate to the topic of the paper and present the main research method and the innovation point in the paper. Because the research of the audience obstacles of the children’s science periodicals is interdisciplinary, it involves the publishing science, communication, psychology and sociology. The chapter establishes the accordatura of the paper is multidisciplinary.Chapter two, I used the questionnaire method and the individual cases analytical method in it. I choice the case of the periodical Discovery. By researching the data of it. I labor the behave of the children in the aspect of the reading, acceptance level, and the obstacles. The obstacles of the children in the periodical propagation process can be fell into five categories:interest obstacle, language obstacle, knowledge obstacle, channel obstacle, and participation obstacle. In the chapter, the author not only use many question to reflect the same reading appearance but also statistic analysis the appearance of the audience from age,gender, family etc. to make the research objective, scientific, and reasonable and use the sample data as well as she can.Chapter three. According to the theory of the child psychology,pedagogy, mass communication and sociology, and combine with the questionnaire data. It analyze the internal cause external cause of obstacle of the publisher and the audience. In the chapter the author point out the two points, start point& end point, are the key points. For example, as the audience, the psychological cognition and reading ability of themselves are the internal cause. The parents and the teacher as the second spread way are the external cause. As the start point the publisher, because the lacking of the right children view and books do not interest the children, is the internal cause,and the spread channel & spread environment is the external cause.Chapter four, the author use the work experience of her selves, explain the methods of solve the obstacle problems, they are reading education and science education of the children, improve the polishers’ professional quality, and clear the spread channel. The author emphasize the responsibility of the family, schools, society and the publisher of the children science periodical in process of the children reading, it can be useful for the parents, teachers and the people of the related part too.The lever of scientific literacy of the children is the flag of the country’s strength. In the tag, the author appeal the families, schools, the society and the publisher of the children science periodical, should have the far sight, we should work harder for meet the request of the physical and mental development of our children and promote the scientific literacy of them.
