New media is generated by the information technology revolution, which is the new force to promote the economic development, political democracy and social harmony. Party Central Committee in China has mentioned the importance and influence of new media for multiple times and required that the Party and government organizations at each level shall have “internet concept”. Since the 18 th CPC National Congress, the nation raised the new media management to the level of national strategy and issued a series of policies. To enhance the management of new media is to enhance the management of the people. As the developer and controller of new media, the new media staff shall play a role of guide in the information technology development, public opinion guide direction, propagation channel and target group selection.This paper draws heavily on the research result of the experts by studying the reference literatures. Standing on the point of adapting Marxism to conditions in China, this paper researches the political guide issues of new media staff, analyzes the occupation principle of new media staff, summarizes the social attribute, explores the countermeasures, concentrate the value consensus, promotes the integration of traditional media and new media and jointly carries forward the core value of socialism.This paper is divided into 5 chapters. The Chapter 1 is the forward, including paper topic selection purpose, research meaning, research method, literature overview and innovation point. Chapter 2 mainly discusses the concept, development status and features of new media. By the comparison research of new media and traditional media, the article explores the position and action of new media in the mainstream ideology construction. Chapter 3 defines the concept and hierarchy attribute of new media staff, summarizes their occupation feature and social attribute, analyzes the limitation of the new media staff and reason, laying the foundation for specific advice. Chapter 4 analyzes the concept and time background of political guide of new media staff, summarizes the political guide work status of new media staff, specifies the relationship of political guide of new media staff and political guide of network opinion professionals. Chapter 5 analyzes the role of political guide of new media staff in network development, promotion and united front work, promotes the principle and path selection of political guide of new media staff and explores the working trend of political guide of new media staff.
