With quick development of the informatization of the society, it is hard for human being to retrieve from thousands of information and use them efficiently. The successful experience of searching and integrating the information sources based on the proper use of the search tool can be conducive to solve this problem. Therefore, the entrance education of libraries, the distributing center of the information sources, especially the university libraries with a large sum of readers, comes into being. The production of library entrance education can easily solve the issue that people cannot make use of great information sources and advanced technologies when facing them. Recently, with the increasing attention of the country and the society to the development of the private universities, the private universities in Hefei have developed by leaps and bounds. Library is both the teaching and research center of the university and the nurturing center for students’ information literacy. Therefore, it is vital for the libraries to carry out the library entrance education for freshmen. This activity embodies the high requirements for libraries and the strengthening of the educational function of libraries in universities. It also can quicken the pace of university libraries from traditional service to the new service and build the bridge between the university libraries and the freshmen, thus promoting the status of library in the universities and finally achieving the sustainable development of the universities. However, due to the disadvantages of the private universities, such as the insufficient library construction fund, the imperfect system, the lack of the talents, many issues in the entrance education for freshmen are still to be solved. This paper has conducted, by the ways such as interview, the questionnaire, phone contact and website research, an investigation into the library entrance education for freshmen among three private universities in Hefei. The paper is written in the following six parts. In the first part, the paper has given a brief account of preliminary work of the paper and has briefly summed up the background, the importance, the design, the research method, the innovation points and the research status at home and abroad of the library entrance education for freshmen. In the second part, based on the discussion of the first part, the concept of the library entrance education for freshmen in universities and the importance of carrying out the library entrance education have been introduced. In the third part, with the comparison and analysis, the paper through the induction and summarizing has learnt the problems existing in the library entrance education for freshmen in these three private universities and further conducted the analysis of the subjective and objective reasons for these problems. In the fourth part, combining the theory with the practice and combining with the characteristics and the real situation of these three private universities, the paper has proposed the measures and suggestions for the improvement of the library entrance education for freshmen, ensuring the quality of the library entrance education for freshmen of the private universities under all kinds of limited circumstances, which can provide certain reference for all the private universities that carry out library entrance education for freshmen and in the long run establish a characteristic library entrance education system suitable for their own development. In the fifth part, it is conclusion part. The paper, through the comparison of the library entrance education for freshmen in the three Hefei private universities, has concluded the significance of the library entrance education of private universities and pressed for the requirements of the libraries in private universities to seize the opportunity to develop themselves and constantly improve the library entrance education with the good condition and their own advantages. The library entrance education for freshmen is still to be solved. This paper has conducted, by the ways such as interview and the questionnaire, an investigation into the library entrance education for freshmen among three private universities in Hefei. First, the paper has a brief elaboration of the preliminary work of writing the paper, thus introducing the importance of the library entrance education and the characteristics of the libraries in private universities. Second, based on the collected information the paper has respectively analyzed the situation of the library entrance education for freshmen in these three private universities and concluded the successful experiences and the lessons from failure; third, based on the mentioned situation the paper has summarized the problems existing in the library entrance education for freshmen in these three private universities and further conducted the analysis of the subjective and objective reasons for these problems; lastly, combining with the characteristics and the real situation of these three private universities, the paper has proposed the measures and suggestions for the improvement of the library entrance education for freshmen.
