The Study On The Roles Of Archivists

Learning the roles, integrating yourself into the roles, then you will be succeed in playing the roles. As archives works in the future, I have a responsibility to deeper learn the archives works’role definition and responsibilities before starting to work. Only then can the archives works adjust and play yourselves roles. They will form the evaluation systems of roles. Long time ago, the archive circle had been paying attention to the study of the roles of archivists. Based on the research of the results, we can find there are certain gaps between the study of the roles of archivists and other subjects of archival science. The gaps exist in the quantity and the quality. Meanwhile, the study of the roles of archivists is still in the early stages compared with the role study of other fields. But we must not give up the role study of archivists, because the scientific research is an important perspective about the archivists.Summary the existing results, this paper discovered two shortcomings of the study of the role of archivists. The one is "inherent problems", another is "postnatal malajustment". "Inherent problems" is that the study of the role of archivists lacks of theoretical foundation and has not a clear role definition. In this paper, "postnatal malajustment " focus on the study of role reversal. But usually, academic researches need a verity of perspectives. In order to overcome these problems, this paper drawn the Role Theory into the study of role of archivists. And recording to the laws and the regulations and the system of some organizations, this paper summarized the role expectations from government and enterprises. The role expectations include that the technology of a file management, the ability of comprehensive management, learning new techniques and propaganda works. And then this paper created the role definitions of archivists. The last section, based on the Sociological researches, put forward to the research directions of the study of archivists.This paper wanted to remind the people to concern the archivists, establish the correct role conceptions and find the proper position.
