Oilfield is usually located in remote areas, where there is sparsely populated. In addition, the distribution is very vast and the natural environment is very harsh. In this case, it is very difficult to ensure the security of produce. For the case that there are fire or other accident, it is diffficlut to be found and stopped. Oil production activities have been inseparable with help of video surveillance system, which can effectively prevent looting, stealing and other events. The system can help to discover many more security risks as well as the accident retain reliable real video information, to ensure that the safety in production work.Based on the wireless bridge technology, VLC technology and Linux development technology, the paper makes in-depth analysis for video surveillance systems. Firstly, according to the idea of designing system, the user requirements and the analysis for objective environment, the paper completed the design of a video surveillance system for oilfield based on wireless bridge technology. Then,the paper completed the analysis and the design of the various components of the monitoring system, including the choices for the front-end video surveillance hardware, the scheme for wireless network design,the design for the center of video surveillance system, and the realization of the client software. During the development of video surveillance systems, it has involved in the software development technology of the embedded Linux system,VLC technology, the use of mjpeg-streamer, as well as the load of driver. The client presents a clear real-time video, and completed the recording of the video the work.The full name of ONVIF is Open Network Video Interface Forum, whose goal is to achieve fully standardized, interoperable network video services. Even the network video products are from different venders, they can be fully interoperable. Based on WSDL,SOAP protocol and Web Service technology, the paper made in-depth analysis for ONVIF protocol. The paper completed the development of Device discovery, docking of video stream, and user authentication features. The paper showed the operation and testing results of ONVIF protocol.
