The standards have been formulated in all fields to bring some convenients forpeople. Industry standards have become more and more popular and be improved, especially in video monitoring field. Many companies have jointly organized todevelop a series of industry standards. Among them, the Open Network VideoInterface Forum (ONVIF) developped rapidly in these years. The ONVIFSpecification has been given by this organization to make sure that the IP devicescan conmunicate with each other in the network. It gets more and more favoritefrom enterprise. With in-depth studying of ONVIF Specification, including all of the ONVIFSpecifications and the reusing protocols, a media services solutions based on Webservice according to the different network scenarios has been given in this paper. The whole scheme was archived mainly in the Hi3516chip platform. As the server itcan be searched as ONVIF network equipment, and be conmunicated with the clientthrough the SOAP protocol and transmitted media stream to client according to theRTP/RTCP protocol. The architecture and implementation of protocol was acomplex process, and it brought a lot of difficulties for server-side development test.Because of the reuse of existing protocol, the gSOAP tools is used to generate theserver code framework to making the application development simply. Some newmethods have been given in the view of the network time delay and congestioncaused by the transmission problem during the media transmission, such as bufferhandle and adding a transmission scheduling control unit. Some innovations based on the ONVIF Specification have been given in mywork. According to ONVIF WSDL document, some new interfaces and data typesdescription have been defined and a voice print module has been added in the serverto authenticating the user login in the client. The methd is proven viable. Accordingto this method the own business functions can be added based on the development ofONVIF Specification.
