With the hit of "China’s Got Talent", "Voice of China" and "Dad Where Going", here comes the boom of introduction of international television format in China. More than 40 international television formats, saturated with China domestic television, have been introduced into China only in the year of 2013. It will still maintain a strong trend in 2014. Nowadays, the introduction of international television format has become an important phenomenon in China television business. However, the production of China original television format is just following other’s step. From an international point of view, in early 21th Century, the transnational flow of television format has become the main trend of international TV business trade. The European and American countries televisions formats have their dominance in the transnational flow of television format.According to the appearance of this phenomenon, in this paper, with the perspective of international vision, the development of international television format in China is set to be the basis of research. Through the research of present situation and characteristics of the production and consumption of international television format in China, to provide the reference and help for the innovation of China television format.This paper is divided into five parts. In the first part, the summary and research of the domestic and international television format is carried out, which determines the research object, method and meaning. In the second part, the concept of television format is defined, and domestic and international development process of television format have been combed in order to a better understanding of television format. The key part of this paper will be displayed in the third, fourth parts. Based on the present situation, the reproduction of international television format in China is summarized, and the two ways, self-sufficiency model and separation programming and broadcasting, have been analyzed. We can see that the flow of international television format encouraged the practice of separation programming and broadcasting in China and injected diversity into China media. The fourth part combines the questionnaire survey, which shows the consumption characteristic of international television format in China and provides the help for the innovation of China television format. In the last part, aiming at the existed development issue of current television format in China, the countermeasure and suggestion for the innovation and development of China future television format has been put forward.
