With the development of wireless communication and the popularity of smart phones, mobile software has been received considerable attention. An optical film thickness real-time coating monitoring system based on an Android platform has been designed due to its advantages, such as parity, openness and portability. In order to suppress the effects of the noise, the source light is modulated by the Alternating Current (AC). The optical signal is converted to electrical signal by the photoelectric detector. The electrical signal is amplified via the CA3140 amplifier circuit and the TL082, respectively. Then, the amplified signal is sent to the analog to digital converter (i.e., ADS1013) which is controlled by the Micro Controller Unit (MCU). In the end, the processed data is sent to the mobile phone by a URAT-WIFI module (i.e., ESP8266).The programs of the Analog to Digital A/D) timing control, I2C data transmission and UART-WIFI communication have been exploited in the software, respectively. The program of the Andriod mobile terminal is used to send the control command and receive the monitoring data. It can also be utilized to display the received data and control the speed of scanning and the scale of waveform. At the same time, it has the high adaption at different screen layouts. The designed hardware and exploited software can work normally in the test.
