《Research On "People’s Daily" And "the Beijing News"

The intensifying haze weather has become a prominent problem facing the development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Mobility and the complexity of compound pollution of air, makes these three places "a common destiny with the haze", and none can be an exception. Various media reports play an important role in whether people can effectively acquire the haze information or not.The two newspapers "People’s Daily" and "The Beijing News" are selected in this paper, for the 2014 haze reports about Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in the two papers as the research content. "People’s Daily" obtains 103 valid samples, and "Beijing News" obtains 81 valid samples. This paper, on the basis of the theoretical framework, makes a comparative analysis from two aspects of layout presentation and the reporting framework in these two newspapers. In this study we can find that, the haze reports for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in these two newspapers have something in common:first of all, on the number of the monthly report, both show volatility; on the contents of the report, the data release and the government measure are dominated in both kinds of newspapers with the "zone defense" consciousness; on the report genre, both take information as the principal; on the tone of the reports, both uphold the principle of objectivity; on the analysis of the keywords, both pay attention to the environmental legal system. The difference lies in:different driving forces for the monthly fluctuation; "The Beijing News" "haze" report is easier to appear on the front page; and the "People’s Daily" positive tones are more than its negative tones.Based on the above conclusions, we find out that there exist some problems about the’"haze" reports for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in these two papers, such as weakly sustained attention, imperfect topic contents for discussion and some single report angle. Draw the following enlightenment from thinking:in the report of our national environmental problems, we should pay attention to news diversification and media convergence; reports across disciplines and pay attention to "green" reporter training; look at the issue from multi-angle and be courage to the supervision of public opinions; and pay attention to in-depth reports,promote the transformation of citizen role.
