The Measurement and management system of the Internet of Things based on VISA architecture was designed and implemented by studying principles and mechanisms of the Virtual Instrument Software Architecture(VISA) and Interchangeable Virtual Instruments(IVI) and researching intensively the resource organization and operation fuctions details of the VISA. From bottom to up, the system is divided into: resource-driven layer, regulatory layer and application layer. The regulator layer and resource-driven layer were regarded as the main object, this paper established a different underlying instrument driver software architecture, covered the difference among kinds of instruments, and implemented the interchangeability among kinds of instruments.By using Disassembly technology to analyze the implementation mechanism of VISA resource management function and operation function, this paper designed the VISA explorer and regarded it as the resource-driven layer of the Internet of Things in order to manage all kinds of interface resources in the network and get rid of the complex underlying interface command fuction but using the VISA fuction to develop application or graphical interface to control a variety of complex intelligent instrument. The network equipment agent based on VISA architecture was designed by using the High-Speed LAN Instrument Protocol(Hi SLIP) and the USBTMC Protocol. In oder to implement indirect communication between host and network equipment, and ensure that the interchangeability of different interface connection, and control the network device and feedback related data, it was regarded as regulatory layer of the Internet of Things.By using the principle and methods of IVI and VISA to design the resource layer and regulatory layer, this measurement and management system of the Internet of Things can implement the self-healing, self-configurating, self-inspecting and self monitoring ability of the Internet of Things, and provide a friendly and smooth interface to the upper.
