Virtual Instrument technology has been becoming the mainstream of measuring field because of its strong superiority, and the software is the key. But general design of VI only considers the specific test task and functions, which results in developed VI with poor interchangeability and flexibility. When test task or test object changes, the VI has almost zero reusability. On the other hand, current development and design of VI and Virtual test system depends on designer's knowledge and experience in the measurement and test field as well as their software design level, which make it difficult for maintenance, function expansion, update and upgrade as well as replant of VI software. In order to solve such problems, adopting the advanced principles of virtual interchangeable instrument (IVI) and mature component technology, a new conception of virtual test functional components (VTFC) and a new developing method of VI based on VTFC is put forward.By extensively analyzing, summarizing and generalizing typical instrument 's inspection function character and specialty of application, the commonness function modules of general and typical measuring instrument and system are abstracted and encapsulated by combining VI technology and component technology and using professional LabVIEW as main development tool, the module of VTFC is established and the administrable environment is achieved. Taking the form error-assessing component as example, the interchangeability of VTFC is discussed at application program layer. The stretching test system, which satisfies national standardization, is fit together by dividing test task and matching VTFC under the virtual integrated test workbench.The study result of this project will shorten the development cycle and reduce the designer's repeated work. It becomes more convenient to upgrade the software functions of VIs and virtual measuring systems. The level of standardization and intellectualized degree of VI are enhanced. In a word, this study has good technical application value.
