With the development of manufacturing technology, the quality and performance of products are also improved. Some products are required to be with excellent air tightness. Take engine for example, air tightness of cylinder body and cylinder cover will directly affect the performance of engines. Leakage detecting technology using gas pressure takes an important role which developed quickly in recent years. Some products which required fluid tightness also can be tested by air. So this technology will be applied widely. But there are still some defects. It is difficult to detect micro-leakage. And detection efficiency can not meet the need of production line. In order to solve these problems, the permanent pressure leakage detecting method and multiple-detecting method are adopted in this thesis. The main job and achievement of this thesis are listed as follows:1. The background and significance of this topic was expounded. Research status and development trend of leakage test technology was analyzed. The theory of air pressure leakage detect technology was also expounded.2. A permanent pressure style leakage detector was designed and established according to schematic diagram adopted permanent pressure leakage detecting method. SIEMENS PLC was used as the controller to design control system. In order to collect and analysis experiment data, host computer control system was designed which communicate with PLC.3. An experiment was finished to analyze the performance of leakage detector. Self-checking experiment was carried out to make sure that the detector has excellent air tightness. Some other containers were tested using this detector. Then experiment data and performance of the detector were analyzed. Finally the factors causing detecting error were analyzed.4. Multiple-step detecting method was used to improve the detection efficiency. The feasibility of this method was verified by experiment. The problems which might occur in the application process was analyzed and the solution was also proposed which could be helpful for continue study.
