This paper,based on the combination of reverse engineering(RE)and Rapid Prototyping(RP)technology which were used in the precision casting technology, developed a complex of glass mold cavity created by new technology quickly.In the study on key technology of RE modeling for complex shape product,a free sample surface of the glass mouse digital method was put forward.In order to improve the efficiency and precision of the surface digital method,the measuring path planning as well as the original measurement data of the pretreatment process was explored by the use of coordinate measuring machine(CMM).In addition,the basic theory and methods of surface reconstruction were researched.By the Imageware and Pro/E software platform,the paper also researched the method of CAD model reconstruction.Based on a variety of characteristics of RP process and glass mouse forming analysis,the high-precision mouse prototype could be made.The thesis analysisd and discussed the adaptability of RP technology to the mould with complicated surface.The paper also studied the primary means of the Rapid Tooling and the process of rough glass mold with complex cavity.By the reproducing mode gypsum core and the using of hollow wooden model,the paper finished the rough glass mould.It focused on the analysis of the impact of the errors in the rapid tooling manufacturing process and its precision control system.In the paper,RP and RE were combined with the use of SLA prototypes and composite ceramic shell mold process on the production of EDM copper electrode, which avoided the shell cracking when it was baked.And the paper also studied finite element simulation techniques to simulate the process of casting solidification.Its deformation trends and changes of size could guided the actual amount of error compensation processThis paper had accomplished the study from the reconstruction of CAD model with complicated surface to RP and rapid tooling manufacturing,which proved the process of rapid manufacturing glass mold was feasible.So the research of this paper had preferable benefit and application value.
