Adapting to the requirement of Rapid Reverse Engineering (RRE), the dissertation puts forward a new scheme to realize RRE by using synthetically Mechanical Vision Technology, Digital Image Processing, 3D Surface Reconstruction, Computer Software Engineering and Rapid Prototyping Manufacturing technology. The main content includes the design of original data collecting system, Image preprocessing, selection and algorithm of filtering method, points cloud creating, reconstruction of 3D CAD model. On this basis, combining with the theory of Computer Software Engineering and technology of Object Oriented Programming, the author has developed independently RRE software system based on SFS technology with C++ Builder 6.0 and OpenGL. Moreover, the software has been evaluated through practices. The research has great significance on 3D measurement, RE/RP integration, etc and establishes the foundation for further study and application.
