Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing is a new process method that combines a series of technologies such as machinery, computer, laser, material and so on. Nowadays networking is highly developed, an enterprise's rapid market response capabilities and new product development cycle has gradually become the primary factors that determine their success or failure. Network-based development and agile manufacturing technologies, represented by rapid prototyping, rapid mold manufacturing, CIMS and other advanced manufacturing technologies combined with network technology, play an increasing role on promoting sustainable economic development. Therefore, it's very necessary to carry out researches on network-based development and remote service technology of rapid prototyping and rapid tooling. Clearly, network based developments and services of both the rapid prototyping and rapid tooling will encounter the problems of transmitting and converting large amounts of data or information. This article is centered on the key technologies to the realization of network based development and remote service data transmission security, conversion, and display, carrying out research and application.With the increasingly widespread of the development and application of computer network technology, information security issues have drawn greater attention. The security issues of exchanging and transmitting data and information on network during network manufacture and remote service have often become the bottleneck that constrains the progress of network based development, service and related e-commerce. Compares to other technology of information security area, digital signature has an irreplaceable role in identity authentication, data integrity and non-repudiation, etc. This article started from the basic principles of cryptography, studied the digital signature technology fundamentals, and analyzed the principles and characteristics of how it achieved confidentiality, authenticity, integrity and non-repudiation in the message transmission. Combined with rapid prototyping and mold manufacturing engineering data characteristics, we established and improved a method based on the RSA multiple ordered digital signature method. Enhanced its ability to prevent attacks, increased the security and reliability of electronic transactions and data transmission in network-based rapid tooling development and remote services, and established a foundation for more secure network-based development and remote service system.In the process of implement product development and carrying out service in a network environment, it usually involves design, analysis and manufacturing, among other things. They will generate large amount of engineering data. Designers in different regions and different enterprises will use different CAD/CAM/CAE Systems, the data and files they generate will be in different data format. In order to overcome this situation and its impact on network-based manufacturing and remote service, one must resolve the heterogeneous data sharing and integration problems. STEP(Standard for the Exchange of Product model" data) is a common international standards for the exchange of product model data. It can exchange product data between different applications running on heterogeneous platforms, makes it possible for the data representation of product to be transmitted, shared, archived and communicated in different computer systems and environments. Therefore this article studied the data exchange technologies based on STEP-AP203, designed and implemented the data exchange interface based on STEP.Doing research on STL (Stereo Lithography) data model visualization is an important part of achieving network-based rapid tooling development and remote service. In the process of converting entity model to STL data in CAD system, sometimes there are defects in the description of 3-dimensional entity parts, The implementation of model visualization capabilities can help designers to diagnose the STL files. Developers and users in different locations can easily found out the defect spots through observation of 3D clear display model and then repair them. This paper studied STL data model visualization technologies, implemented the STL data model visualization using visual C++programming language and the OpenGL graphics library, improved the display precision.This paper based on comparison and analysis of current rapid prototyping, rapid tooling remote services and network-based development mode, proposed a more practical and comprehensive network-based rapid prototyping and rapid tooling service system mode, and did analysis and design on this mode's remote service system model framework and related function modules. Also we ran and tested the data file transmit and related function modules of the system.
