In the process of Reverse Engineering and Rapid Prototyping, there are a lot of things to be considered. It includes the data measurement, data processing, surface construct of Reverse Engineering and principal, type, character of Rapid prototyping and the integrate of RE&RP.This thesis has mainly analysis and discussed about RE&RP. After introduce the whole things of Reverse Engineering, several kinds of measuring method during the Reverse Engineering process has been introduced and analyzed in this article. And the optical measurement principle and procedure has been introduced in detail. Some analysis has been made in how to improve the measurement precision.In data processing, several data file format exported from measuring system has been analysis in detail, and some research has been made in these file-formats, and some try was made also.The decision standard of a thin and long triangle was discussed. Besides the minimum angle of a triangle, there also the no-equlangularity and the ratio of radius of inscribed circle and circumcircle of a triangle.A relationship of vertex, edge and facet of a triangulation network was discussed, and a three-dimensional model was given.And several methods of Rapid Prototyping Manufacturing are also compared and analyzed, in order to get a proper way in engineering real application. And here the embodiment of possibility of RE&RP Technology in a Corporation are discussed and analyzed, combing the reality of this enterprise, a proper method in the embodying of RE&RP in civil enterprise is brought forth.In the end, a whole procedure of an in-tube model was given, including measuring, data processing, surface reconstruction and model generation. A good result was given in the end.In the chapter of the narrating of Air-flue Model's Reverse Engineering and Rapid Prototyping, the form of the air inlet or outlet flue has a strong effect on the performance of engine. Some research of the engine air-flue model's reverse engineering has been discussed in this article. And the optical measurement procedure has been introduced in detail. A method of reconstruction of the air-flue model through the combination of reverse engineering and traditional normal design is brought forth here. In the end, combining the reverse engineering and rapid prototyping, a satisfied product is made out.
