Study And Implementation Of Data Plane Technology Of Data Center Network Virtualization

With the increasingly growing of current network scale and business, the data center which provides support and service functions for the network is facing more pressure and challenge. The network virtualization technology applies to the data center will effectively relieve the current performance bottleneck of data center. Therefore, more and more manufactures and scientific research organizations research data center network virtualization technology and realization scheme.This paper focuses on the data plane technology of data center network virtualization, designs and realizes the data plane of the ISIS-NVO3network virtualization scheme proposed by Huawei, tests the data plane and validates the feasibility of this scheme. It includes the following aspects.(1)Research and analyse the data center network virtualization technology. This paper analyses the present research status of data center nerwork virtualization, researches several current popular network virtualization solutions, including the VMware solution, Microsoft Hyper-V solution, Cisco OTV solution and NV03technology. The structure and the data communication of each scheme are mainly analysed in this paper.(2)Based on the ISIS-NVO3network virtualization solution proposed by Huawei and the control plane demand of ISIS-NVO3, this paper proposes the data plane demand of ISIS-NVO3, designs the network architecture of this solution and refines the data plane mechanism.(3)Design and implement the data plane of ISIS-NVO3network virtualization system. Based on the design scheme of the data plane of ISIS-NVO3and OpenvSwitch open source platform, this paper puts forward the demand analysis and design scheme of the extended OpenvSwitch and expounds the realization of the key modules.(4) Test the ISIS-NVO3network virtualization system from the building of the nerwork environment to the functions of the data plane,and validate the feasibility of this scheme.
