Study And Implementation Of ICN-Based Information Distribution In Vanet

With the rapid development of modern transportation and automobile industry, VANET(Vehicular Ad-hoc Network) gradually becomes part of people’s daily life. VANET can improve road safety and transportation efficiency, and provide driving people with the entertainment services. Information exchange is the main goal of VANET, and therefore it has raised the concern of introducing ICN(Information-Centric Networking) to VANET. However, some design principles of ICN must be extended and implemented in order to realize efficient data dissemination in VANET.This paper aims at solving the information distribution problem of ICN in VANET, and puts forward an information distribution mechanism based on hops for ICN in VANET. The main work of this thesis includes following aspects.1. Analyzed ICN technology and VANET research status, and analysed the problems existing in the current IP network of VANET, educe the necessity of applying ICN to VANET.2. Analyzed the problems of applying ICN to VANET, and emphatically introduced the problems existing of ICN information distribution in VANET.3. Proposed an information distribution mechanism based on hops for ICN in VANET. Under certain assumptions, introduced the principle of mechanism in detail, emphatically analyzed the packet processing of nodes, and discussed the value of parameter T in mechanism according to the specific topology scenario.4. Implemented the mechanism in NS3, and evaluated performance of the mechanism with NS3and VanetMobiSim. Through the simulation and results contrast, draw a conclusion that the mechanism has a great advantage compared to other ICN implementation.
