Arbitrary waveform generato(rAWG)is classified as basic measuring instruments,a multipurpose signal source with high-integration and high-tech features. With therapid development of technology, high sampling rate, high-bandwidth, high-index andapplications in many fields are the direction of development.Direct Digital Frequency Synthesis(DDS) is one of key technologies used inarbitrary waveform generator, usually, single channel DDS is widely used in traditionalfunction generator or arbitrary waveform generator(AWG) to synthesize arbitrarywaveform, however, with the development of sampling rate increase rapidly and speedlimit of waveform look-up table and waveform store device, single channel DDS cannotmeet the requirements of throughput of high-speed sampling DAC. In this thesis, basedon the project of “high-speed arbitrary waveform generator research and design”andbased on the structure of FPGA+RAM+DAC, the use of FPGA reconfigurability andparallel processing features, resource exchange rate, increasing the throughput betweenhigh-speed DAC and FPGA by means of multi-channel parallelization. Firstly, themethod used to generate arbitrary waveform based on single channel DDS is introduced, and then the design concept of Multi-channel parallel is put forward which isinvestigated by theoretical derivations, simulation and experiment verifications ispresented. Finally, experimental results show that the design concept of Multi-channelparallel was proven to be feasible. The future research on arbitrary waveform techniquehave an important practical significance.
