Pumps are widely used in various sectors of the national economy, its shaft performanceis the key to judge the overall performance of the pump, and the pump axial force is a majorfactor affecting the performance of the spindle, therefore, measuring the axial force of pumpaccurately is an important significance to the reliable safety operation of pump. The object ofthe axial force testing calibration by the cylindrical load cell is to obtain a ratio between thestrain output and the pressure input, under the premise that the output value of the strain, it iseasy to calculate the input pressure value corresponding to the equation, to provide atheoretical basis for measuring the axial force accurately.This paper describes the causes of the pump axial force and the development status of thesensor calibration, dynamic calibration method is proposed for testing cylindrical axial forceload cell. Mainly carries out a detailed analysis of the principle system, method, and thecalibration structure, and using the method of static and dynamic characteristics to describethe performance of a cylindrical load cell. Static strain of the pump barrel axial force load cellwas tested using the XL2118A static strain gauge, obtaining the relationship between the loadinput and the strain output under static conditions and the static characteristics of the load cellindicator barrel, then, through the experimental study of the dynamics of the cylindrical pumpaxial force load sensor step response, the Matlab software testing system dynamics was usedto obtain the dynamic performance of the cylindrical load cell. Axial force static calibrationstructure tests used in two ways: first, the electronic universal testing machine was used forcylindrical load cell to load force, this approach needs to design the fixture structure; thesecond way is to use a metal frame and a S beam sensor and other mechanical parts to design asuitable structure of cylindrical load cell for loading force. Dynamic calibration structure isthat driving by the motor rotates the cylindrical load cell, the use of the thrust bearing changesthe state of cylindrical load cell from moving condition into static condition for loading theaxial pressure. In the axial force data collection, mainly introduces the application of two dataacquisition card, using LabVIEW software programming achieves the display and storage ofthe pump axial force data, and using Matlab software to achieve the data communication withthe host computer and data analysis and processing. Use cylindrical load cell calibration device can get the relationship between the outputvoltage and load force and lay the foundation for accurately real-time testing the size of pumpaxial force in the site, so as to provide accurate parameters for pump impeller anddevelopment of the axial force balance system.
