Mine ventilation systems is a complex dynamic system which involve with largeamounts of data, information parameters of ventilation and dispersed locations. Withstrong spatial geographic attributes, the traditionally manual method of processingoperations have low efficiency, low confidence, and can not meet the developmentrequirements of coal mines ventilation system today. Currently, a single managementmethod of mine ventilation information is single, backwardness. Many miningcompanies only use paper for data managing, without the usage of GIS technology andWeb technologies, resulting in slow update of information of ventilation. It can noteffectively prevent the occurrence of disasters. Therefore, this paper proposedinformation management system of mine ventilation based on WebGIS can effectivelysolve these problems. This article focuses on researching of the design structure and the realization ofmain function of management information system of mine ventilation based on WedGISunder Internet environment, and expound the of the basic theory of WebGIS. Themanagement information system structure of mine ventilation has been designed and itshardware and software environment configured. PHP is used as page development tool, and ArcGIS Desktop+ArcGIS Server is used as GIS development platform. MySQL isused for developing database. System is divided into foreground and background whichcan achieve map management, project management, laws and regulations management, personnel management and ventilation information system management. It is based onCI framework using of B/S mode. The system is developed by three-tier of presentationlayer, business logic layer and data layer to achieve data sharing and remote access. This paper describes the management of mine ventilation problems, proposed thenecessity of applying WebGIS to management of mine ventilation, then, introduced thetechnologies used by system developing and the software development platforms. Thesystem is divided by modules, as software engineering thought. Various modules hasbeen introduced. Finally a mine geospatial data is adopted as the basis for developing.
