| Nowadays, Data Services such as High Definition Video Server, Gaming, Voice overIP, Cloud computer applications continue to increase. This trend tremendously stresses thetransport network, which have been built on10G network interfaces. Data center andcommercial network operators have cited the need for100Gigabit Ethernet (GbE)connectivity and transport to support ever increasing internet traffic growth. Responding tothis demand, IEEE Std.802.3ba was released in2010and is the most current version of thisEthernet specification.100Gigabit Ethernet became commercial. The100Gigabit Ethernetclient optical transceiver is100Gb/s CFP optical transceiver. The main features of thistransceiver are as follow: high integration, hot-plug support, mature technology. It can beused in data center and Ethernet Core Switch, Core Router.The paper overviews the related protocols of100Gb/s CFP optical transceiver andgives an effective and feasible design method. The whole paper consists of five parts: partone is devoted to analysis on the present situation and prospect of100Gigabit Ethernet andoptical transceiver. Part two describes IEEE Std.802and CFP Multi-Source Agreement.Part three describes a design of module which consisted of four units: rate conversion unit,transmitting unit, receiving unit and Communication unit. Part four is about PCB layerstack design in module.In the last part, according to the current test equipment, this articlegives a testing scheme of100Gb/s CFP optical transceiver, and analysis the result.The results indicated that the average launch power(each lane) of TOSA is1.47dBmand the extinction ratio is6.4dB. The output eye-diagram of ROSA is good in quality.Moreover, the optical transceiver has passed the10x10G and4x25G loopback test, and itcould be applied in100Gigabit Ethernet. |
