Where there are Production tools there are maintenance. When we entered the era of mechanization, we have heavy maintenance tasks. What can we do about the maintenance of production tools in our daily lives, Improve the maintenance process, improve the maintainability design performance, build a good maintenance personnel training system are our tasks. With the rapid development of computer simulation technology and virtual reality technology, the maintainability design, maintenance process simulation, maintenance control in Virtual Mainte-nance System become true.In this paper, we analysis the research status of the situation cognitive in virtual maintenance about topic sources, background and significance.The research of the situation cognitive in virtual maintenance system can help improve the system’s Human-Computer Interaction, it also can help the user improve their situation cognitive ability in the process of maintenance.Based on the characteristic and key elements of virtual maintenance system, the paper had the definition of the situation cognitive in virtual maintenance system. After we analysis and comparing three classical model in this field, we do some removal experiments of guns in the system of Gun Disassembly2.Through the analysis and summary of the experiment, it can make the system of virtual maintenance better and improve the trainer’s ability.
