Virtual maintenance is the application of virtual reality in the field of maintenance, and the essence of it is to use virtual reality technology and computer simulation techniques to simulate the maintenance procedure. The traditional ways to training have many disadvantages, such as the training period is too long, restricted by space and time, costly and inefficient. So, in order to meet the modern needs of weaponry repair and maintenance, applying the virtual maintenance to traditional weapons maintenance areas has a great necessity. This paper is based on the theory of the virtual maintenance technology, mainly to complete the following tasks:Virtual modeling is the basis to build virtual maintenance system with good immersion and authenticity. It includes maintenance scene modeling and maintenance model modeling. OpenGL and3D modeling tools are used to build it. Collision detection is one of the inevitable problems in maintenance field, it is not only can improve the truth of maintenance, and also can provide the necessary support to disassembly sequence planning and dismantling the path planning. In addition, this paper also uses the linear sequence planning to the disassembly sequence planning. Finally, after the research on the current popular virtual maintenance platform, to make the system have better compatibility and expansibility, this paper uses the OpenGL programming under VC++as a development plan, the3DS file as a virtual maintenance model, implemented the weaponry virtual maintenance training system after the system architecture design.Considering the characteristics of the weaponry maintenance, in this paper, the virtual maintenance process is divided into three modes:demonstration mode, training mode and evaluation mode. In addition, this paper also studied the human-computer interaction techniques, and on this basis, designed and implemented this system. The system has good scalability, immersive, interactive and easy to use.
