Traditionally, maintenance means that the engineer proceeds the work actions such as disazemabling, azemabling, checking and repairing. While the construction of equipment is extremely complicated, the higher maintenance technology is required to the engineer. Particularly, when the serious faults occur to the equipment which is the most important or dangerous, if the maintenance engineer can't accomplish his job in time, there will always be a critical disaster which would provide a great damage for the economy and put the life of everyone nearby into a dangerous circumstance. On the other hand, concerning that the constructions of those equipments are complicated, the cost for maintenance training is extremely high and the training environment is maybe dangerous. All of those factors are choke points while more improvements are in need in technology of maintenance training. When the virtual reality technology is shown up, more and more profession fields gain benefits from it, and virtual reality maintenance is just the one of them.This paper bases on basic realizing progress of virtual maintenance, makes a comparison between virtual maintenance and normal maintenance, then the construction of un immersing virtual maintenance simulation platform is designed, and a new maintenance process model is provided considering the special parts of virtual maintenance, and finally the development is accomplished based on 3D engine Delta3D.The main achievements are as follows:1) Several improvements has been taken to the construction of popurlar developing virtual reality maintenance system, and the functional modules of the un immersing system are designed. Then the differences between system and platform and the way to make platform are discussed.2) Based on the requirements of process controlling module in functional construction, the new hierarchical way of PERT graph which is illustrated in the paper can take place of the traditional one to make graph distinguished easier. Then the timed Pertri net system is introduced and its weakness in this system has been discussed, and work out a new method that making divisions in places and transmits to improve the ability to describe the maintenance process.3) The realization of visualize simulation and digitizing maintenance processes files in virtual reality maintenance is particularly analyzed. And the realizations of system initializing progress, graphic user interface, free roam motion, the location of disassembling tools and assembling motion are illustrated, which would be helpful to development of other systems.
