The rapid economic development makes the air transport industry in our country have maintained a double-digit growth for nearly three decades, so China has become the most active areas of civil aviation in the world. The rapid development of civil aviation brings the convenience and opportunities to economic developments, but at the same time, it also generates a lot of issues. The unbalanced distribution and slow construction speed of civil aviation resources such as airport, airline, the outbreak of large-scale traffic, the insufficient coordination of military and civilian aviation made air traffic become more and more crowd. GIS (Geographic information systems) coming from in the sixties aiding to solve geographical problems is a product of a variety of disciplines and multi-directional fields of study, nowadays, GIS system has been successfully applied in many fields such as transportation, resource development, urban planning and construction, mapping, forestry, real estate development, transportation, and navigation and so on. So we designed and implemented air situation system based on a map component of SuperMap to cope with these issues.This paper describes technology of WinForm and DLL in.NET platform, then analyzes the structure and core modules of the map component of SuperMap Objects. NET, and last introduces three coordinate systems and map layers that involved in the GIS.In the implementation section of this paper, first introduced how information is received and analyzed. The receiver section uses IO module of Select socket to manage the information receiving from radars and analysis section analyzes the radar packets according to their structural characteristics. Secondly, it introduces a data processing module. This module describes data structures which are used by the system, gives a detailed account for the specific features of SuperMap components and explains the process of handling aircraft data. Finally, it introduces the concrete realization of each functional module in the system. This section details functionality and workflow of system functional modules such as radar modules, eagle eye module, layer management module, statistics module and aircraft display module.In the system test trials, the system does help users to make reasonable decisions based on real-time monitoring air traffic cases by sending manually recorded radar data with simulation software of radar, and does have a very good effect for easing air traffic congestion.
