Geological data currently saved a lot of geological data, the data for all geologicalactivities such as geological prospecting geological work, to study and improve the naturalenvironment as well as human progress relating to provide a very useful help. After decadesof accumulated geological data has become a sum of immortal wealth, but the wealth has notbeen effectively utilized for the development and management of geological data is still stuckin the old mode, which has fallen far behind people’s need for high efficiency in today’sinformation age. Digitization became the leading trend in every single aspect of the world’seconomics and development of society. The emergence of computer promoted theestablishment of modern electronic products. The need for a highly efficient managing systemhas become rather urgent.Meanwhile, with rapid development of GIS technique, the trend which requirese-management for the geological information obtained through prospecting process isbecoming transparent. The question is how to apply GIS technique in e-managing thesegeological data and make the most of GIS in aspects including query, analysis, statistics andspace analysis, and thus assisting more geologists fulfill their tasks with higher speed andefficacy. Serving the geologists to a higher level, improving their work efficiency are twoimportant reasons for this system to be create.The system which described in this paper is exactly such kind of e-managing systemwhich based on GIS technique. Based on a certain amount of study on the related topic, theauthor strengthened her understanding the actual need of geological departments. I utilize thedata provided by the department as basic data source, and develop this managing system onthe development platform of Visual Studio. I used Oracle Relational Database ManagementSystem to establish my property database, a special GIS software which is developedindependently by author’s internship company to realize query visualization and graphicalstatistics and C#language as the develop language. By user-friendly system interface design Irealize the query and lending management functions in this system. This paper demonstratesdeliberately the whole designing and developing procedure, as well as some key techniqueand functions realized in each module. Also, some weakness together with ameliorationstrategy will be discussed in the last part of the paper.The aim of this system is realizing e-management for astronomical geographic informationthrough establishing such a geographic information management and service system andapplying it into the management of geographic department. Apart from the fact that thesystem can conduct basic functions included in common management system, such as query, statistics gathering and viewing conveniently and effectively, the system could set effectivesecret protection on certain special files according to different security classification, whichfurther fulfill the need for better information management.
