Design Of Monitoring Systems With Mega Eyes

China Telecom "Mega Eyes" network video surveillance launched by China Telecom is acompletely new value-added services based on broadband networks, image remote monitoring,transmission, storage, management."Mega Eyes" network video monitoring service offerscross-industry, cross-network, cross-regional comprehensive solution to integrated videosurveillance system. Digitization, integrating, intelligentizing and networking are the developmentdirections of security technology, which is widely used in industries and sectors and can be mergedwith Internet of the Things in the future.This paper describes the differences between network video surveillance systems and thetraditional monitoring systems, then gives a comprehensive analysis of the China Telecom “MegaEyes”(Network Video Monitoring System) services requirements. The integrated IP networks andvideo codec technology are overviewed, and the structure of Mega Eyes monitoring platform isanalyzed. Meanwhile, this paper shows detailed description about the monitoring front-endimplementation and user access methods etc.. Combining with the status and needs of industryusers, the Telecom “Mega Eyes”’s application and networking in industry are given and thefeatures of the Mega Eyes are shown. Finally, outlook and suggestions about “Mega Eyes” servicesare presented.
