With the rapid development of digital manufacturing technology in aircraftmanufacturing in China, higher requirements for detection of aircraft sheet metal partsare put forward, make the inspection planning of detection become particularlyimportant. The inspection planning is carried out for the planning of detection steps,detection method, detection tools of the products and parts. A suitable、appropriateinspection planning can not only improve the detection accuracy and quality of thesheet metal parts, but also is very important to the aircraft’s safety, stability. Thetraditional inspection planning means is no longer suitable for today’s information era,changing into the intelligent detection mode has become an urgent problem to besolved. The paper introduces realization and application of intelligent inspectionplanning technology for aircraft sheet metal parts.The paper put forward two realization methods of intelligent inspection planningfor aircraft sheet metal parts. The first method, based on expert system, designedinspection planning expert system through establishment of knowledge base andcompilation of inference rules. According to the type and features of the part, thesystem conducted inspection planning, and the result were stored; Designed detectionprocess card template of sheet metal parts, and put automatically inspection planningresult in it, then generate completely detection process card of sheet metal parts,completed intelligent inspection planning of sheet metal parts.The second method, based on Visual Studio2005platform, CATIA secondarydevelopment were achieved by using CAA development tool. In CATIA environment,the inspection feature information of sheet metal part were read, detection sequencewere planned, then intelligent inspection planning were achieved by confirming thespecific parameter of inspection feature. The planning results could also be stored forthe query and call. These two methods have been achieved for intelligent inspection planning ofaircraft sheet metal parts. In intelligent inspection planning system based on expertsyetem, the results of inspection planning can be converted inspection process cards,and the inspection process cards can be automatically output. In full three-dimensionalinspection planning system based on CATIA CAA, the module for inspection planningof aircraft sheet metal parts were built in CATIA environment, and inspection planningof aircraft sheet metal were realized, and the results of inspection planning can besaved. Through comprehensive comparison, the two methods have their respectiveadvantages and disadvantages, which method should be adopted finally, that dependson further study.Intelligent inspection planning technology of aircraft sheet metal parts not onlyreaches fast, accurate, high efficiency, but also greatly reduces staffs’ working strength,improves the detection efficiency, accuracy, quality.
