Cultural tourism is a type of tourism. Compared to other tourism experience, cultural tourism experience stresses the perception of cultural elements and cultural atmosphere. However, in most cultural landscapes, cultural experience is not enough and tourist satisfaction is not high. So culture experience design is particular important. There is less research on experience design for cultural landscapes. What’s more, some mobile guide applications for cultural landscapes are lack of good user experience. In response to these problems, this study developed a complete experience design process for cultural landscapes, utilizing a combination method of scenario-based design, Kano model and Quality Function Deployment (QFD) to design a mobile guide application for Leifeng pagoda. Firstly, we construct tourism problem situations through the field survey, and then get the needs of tourists by the Kano quality questionnaire and user interviews. The study determines the mobile software design attributes through focus group. By building the house of quality, the importance of user demands and software design requirements are quantified, we obtain the design directions:(1) the core features of Leifeng pagoda software should be Pagoda historical introduction, the basic tourist guide and surrounding information inquiry;(2) In the13design requirements, interface design, navigation design, information architecture are closely related to the software usability, so they have the highest priority. Finally, according to the results of the house of quality, we build the software framework and interactive flowcharts, and then design high fidelity model. Through the user experience test, we find some usability problems, and then make some appropriate modifications. This exploratory research uses scenario-based design method, Kano model and Quality Function Deployment to design mobile application for cultural landscape, which has a relatively high utility. During the software development process, the method explicitly priority user requirements and maximize user satisfaction, contribute to the development of scientific software design directions.
