Linear frequency modulated pulse compression is an important part of radar signal processing syste, therefore, it is a great significance to design and realize the linear frequency modulation signal and the pulse compression system. This paper finished the FPGA realization of linear frequency modulation signal and the pulse compression system by using MATLAB simulation analysis and FPGA development platform,On the basis of the linear frequency modulation signal and matched filtering principle.First of all, this paper analyzes and implements the generation of linear frequency modulation signal which based on CORDIC algorithm. And introduces the basic principle ofCORDIC algorithm in DDS system. we Implementation the direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDS) which combine with the basic principle of CORDIC algorithm by using verilog hardware description language. According to the linear frequency modulation signal phase modulation function we implements the linear frequency modulation signal of FPGA, then validate the correctness of this method on the ModelSim platform.Secondly,by using the FPGA design method to implement the FFT algorithm in the frequency domain of pulse compression system, taking16points Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) as an example, analyzing the Verilog design methods of butterfly module, address generation module and control module. Selects the finite state machine to complete the coefficient generator design, and realize the whole simulation of the FFT on Quartus II platform.Finally combining the verilog language and Quartus II platform, Successfully completed the FIR filter FPGA implementation in DA structure. Compared with traditional accumulative algorithm, the distributed algorithm greatly reduces the computational complexity of pulse compression, and improves the efficiency of pulse compression.But the paper also the following deficiencies:we failed to take window handle in the FPGA implementation and pulse compression simulation of linear frequency modulation signal. In the process of realization of DA algorithm,the speed of data processing and the precision of operation remains to be further improved. These issues are worthy of improvement in further research.
