Surface Plasmon Resonance technology has been widely used in biochemicalexamination, drug analysis and environmental monitoring, etc, has the advantages ofhigh resolution, immunity to electromagnetic interference, the samples without marksand real-time detection. In recent years, SPR technology combined with othertechniques, which can further improve the application of SPR technology has openedup broad prospects.First, the article describes in detail the surface plasmon resonance technologysensing principle, respectively analyzed depends on the prism and the fiber couplingmodel of SPR sensing technology, and the corresponding signal modulation method,and by MATLAB simulation. Compared with the prism coupling mode, optical fibercoupling model has the advantages of small volume and favorable to the remotemonitoring etc, has better application prospects. Therefore, the article choose opticalfiber SPR sensor technology has been studied in detail. According to wavelengthmodulation mode the detection performance of optical fiber SPR sensor is evaluated.Besides, a single wavelength intensity modulation detection scheme witch can reducethe cost has been put forward. Intensity modulation method simplifies the optical fiberSPR sensor unit, reduces the volume of the system, has important significance for thepractical application of optical fiber SPR system. Through the application ofimproved signal processing algorithm, the system data can be monitored, analysisedand processed in real-time. Therefore, the formant fluctuation noise is decreased from±7.5nm to±2.5nm, the accuracy and stability of the system is improved. In addition,the study about relationship between optical fiber SPR sensors and voltage has beenaccomplished. Second, completed the relationship between optical fiber SPR sensor andvoltage probe. In the optical fiber SPR sensor system, adding optical fiber SPRsensing probe to the three electrodes system contained in the electrochemicalworkstation, and detailedly study the relationships between the variation of spectrumand the applied voltage with the methods of electrochemical analysis (eg.chronoamperometry and cyclic voltammetry). It has been found that the appliedvoltage was negatively related to the light intensity of optical fiber SPR sensor system,which have provided a experimental reference for the subsequent researchs, made theoptical fiber SPR sensor used to detect the activities of the nerve cells and auxiliarymonitoring electrochemical responses possible.
