The fiber-optic Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) is a technology combined with fiber optic sensing and SPR sensing, which is been paid more and more attentions and has been well used in biological, chemical fields. In this paper, a new sensing structure of the optical fiber SPR sensor and its application are studied.The basic principle of fiber optic SPR sensor is introduced in the first part. The plasma wave, the theory of Plasmon Resonance and the condition of surface plasmon resonance are discussed. Several structures of the SPR sensors are reviewed.A new sensing structure of fiber-optic SPR is proposed in the second part. Some important parameters of the proposed SPR sensor are analyzed. The simulation based on single-mode fiber and multimode fiber structure is conducted before the experimental setup can be built.A PH value experiment that is based on the change of the refractive index and absorbance of polyaniline is conducted. A movement of resonance wavelength can be observed by change the refractive index of the environment. |
