In December2014the MIIT official released a license for4G, and the commercial process for TD-LTE technology began. Its subsequent evolution of technology TD-LTE-A also gets more and more attention. As a key link in mobile communications, the quality of mobile terminal’s performance plays a key role in the entire process of the maturation and commercialization of TD-LTE-A technology. The RRM and RF conformance test are important for the improvement and upgrading of terminal’s quality. Therefore, developing the TD-LTE-A terminal RRM (radio resource management) and RF (radio frequency) conformance test system to provide testing and verification tools for TD-LTE-A terminal technology maturity and product development, and improving the performance and quality of TD-LTE-A terminal is of great significance.The main object of this paper is to develop the TD-LTE-A terminal RRM/RF conformance test system with the existing system simulator, channel simulator, vector signal source and signal analyzer.The research of this paper is divided into three parts, including protocols research, hardware design development, software design and development. The first part gives the theory of TD-LTE-A terminal conformance test, including RF conformance test standards, RRM conformance test standards and RF test Uncertainty theory. The second part gives the hardware design and development of the test system. It first gives the design of the overall system architecture according to test requirements. Then analyzes the microwave devices, and translates the test schematics into actual link schematics. At last, it uses microwave devices to build actual links, and verifies the links through the RF parameters and measurement uncertainty. The third part gives the software design and development of the test system. It first gives the design of the hierarchical structure of the test software according to the needs analysis. And split every layer into different functional modules. It also prepares the code of the whole test system, from the instrument driver of the bottom to the interface of the top. Finally, it gives the verification of the test software. At the end of this paper, it summarizes the whole paper and analyzes the direction of future research.
