Terminal radio resource management conformance testing is not only an importantcontent of terminal RF conformance testing but also is an important part of3Gterminal testing. The research and implementation of this content has greetsignificance to terminal’s R&D and authentication. Radio resource managementmeans plan and schedule the resource on air interface resources, through the flexibleallocation and dynamic adjustment to make full use of the limited wireless spectrumresource, In other word, a good RRM performance can improve the wireless spectrumresource utilization rate to the greatest extent and reduce the network congestion andsignaling burden, the quality of service will also be ensured at the meanwhile. SinceRRM affects the user experience directly, so it’s important to make sure the terminalhas well RRM performance. There are already54test cases that are used to test theperformance of TD-SCDMA terminal. Along with the popularization anddevelopment of TD-SCDMA HSPA technology, TD-SCDMA HSPA terminal RRMconformance testing is becoming more and more important. Based on the urgentrequirement, this paper introduces the research of TD-SCDMA HSPA terminal RRMconformance testing and the realization of3new RRM test cases.The main work of this paper is that: Based on the Chinese communication industrystandard and the3GPP protocol, realize the TD-SCDMA HSPA terminal RRMconformance test cases and complete the design and implementation of adapter whichis used to adjust test cases to underlying system.The research based on the test purpose, test process, test requirements and testparameters which are specified in Chinese communication industry standard. Threetest cases which are introduced in detail, respectively are serving HS-DSCH cellchange test case, UE power headroom measurement test case, E-TFCI selection testcase. The paper contains the design and implementation of the data transmissionmechanism, E-DCH call setup process, user equipment power headroom algorithmand terminal E-TFC selection.The paper also analyze design and realization of the adapter in detail. The result of paper have begun to commercial and were selected byCMCC as the mandatory test cases with the former54test cases. The results of thethree test cases can assist operator analyze the TD-SCDMA HSPA terminal whethermeet the specification of Chinese communication industry standard.
