Development Of3G Mobile Phone Power Consumption Performance Test Cases

With the development of communication technology,3G communication systemTD-SCDMA for example, has achieved commercial purposes.At the same time,testperformance and test standards are improving constantly.In3G network,3G terminalssupport more abundant business requirements,the quality requirements of the networkis also higher than the2G era. Current development of mobile phone battery is veryslow, making the terminal power consumption performance become an importantresearch subject. Terminal power consumption testing is an important way to helpimprove the power consumption of the terminal performance. In this paper, the authorstudied and implemented through a wireless terminal resource management (RRM)conformance test system to measure the performance of the power consumption of theterminal program. Terminal RRM conformance testing is an important part of theterminal conformance testing, and it is also an important part of the3G mobileterminal testing. RRM conformance testing is important for the development andcertification of terminal. Currently TD-SCDMA terminal RRM conformance testalready contains68test cases, which gives a big help to enhance the terminalperformance.With the increasingly urgent demand for terminal power consumptiontests, the significance of RRM consumption performance of TD-SCDMA terminalconformance testing has become increasingly important. Because of the demand forsuch development, the paper describes the power consumption of the TD-SCDMAterminal RRM conformance testing performance studies based on the3GPP standardprotocols and understanding of China’s telecommunications industry,, and introduced4test cases of terminal consumption the specific implementation.The main work of this paper: complete realization of TD-SCDMA terminalpower consumption performance RRM conformance test cases, and finished withdesign and implementation of adaptation layer of the underlying communication system based on China Mobile demand for testing and China telecommunicationsindustry standards and3GPP protocols.Based on the needs of China Mobile and the industry standard of ChineseMinistry of Industry and Information Technology, study were mainly completed thedevelopment of TD system reselection parameters drain test,2/3G start measuringpower consumption threshold test,2/3G cell reselection parameters drain test, PSdomain scheduling cycle battery drain test. At present, all these test cases have beendeveloped, integrated in Starpoint Ltd. SP6200test System.
