Long Term Evolution (LTE), has become a concern of Governments and Operators as the mainstream of development of wireless communication. TD-LTE is the time-division mode of LTE technology which can better adapt to the development of mobile data and mobile Internet services because of its varied up-and downloading slot ratio which results in flexible uploading and downloading capacity allocation. Comparing to3G, the network architecture and wireless access have revolutionarily changed with the arrival of TD-LTE. Indeed, TD-LTE makes important technical innovation in terms of air interface high layer protocol and network architecture, physical layer, etc., and has strong strengths in system capacity, transmission delay, deployment flexibility, network cost, and business quality.First, by research on the OFDM, multi antenna technology and key technology of physical layer in TD-LTE system, this thesis presents the application method of related technologies for the TD-LTE wireless network coverage planning, which provides the necessary theoretical basis for the study of TD-LTE wireless network coverage planning.Secondly, according to the technical characteristics of the TD-LTE system, learning the process of TD-SCDMA wireless network planning, this thesis presents a process of TD-LTE wireless network coverage planning. The TD-LTE wireless network coverage planning mainly consists of five phases:requirement analysis, network size estimation, site planning, parameter design and system simulation.Finally, it researches the key technologies in many part of TD-LTE wireless network coverage planning process, including determination of planning objective, analysis of the propagation model, the estimation of coverage and capacity, the parameter design of wireless network and the design of simulation process, in which the mainly content are coverage estimation and capacity estimation. This thesis designs the method and step for coverage estimation and capacity estimation in detail, and based on the actual example calculates the coverage radius, scheduling subscriber capacity in uplink and downlink, the system peak date rate, and VoIP users capacity, and obtains the coverage limited channel under the reference configuration of TD-LTE system, control channel capacity and peak date rate.
