With the "Broadband China" being the national strategy, most domestic middle and large scale cities of china have been built "Wireless city" and "Wisdom city" by WLAN of the operators. At the same time, WLAN has acquired a new round of explosive growth opportunities, with the advantages of low cost on the business, exhibition and campus market and that it can shunt wireless data of the mobile communication system to a large extent.At present, domestic WLAN operates lacks of operational maintenance experiences, making it great challenge to running and maintaining the WLAN network. In order to guarantee stable operation of WLAN networks, statistical analysis and data maintenance monitoring of WLAN network is an urgent issue to solve for the network operators.This paper is mainly to design one WLAN network monitoring system for one subsidiary of china mobile of some city, automating the network monitoring and data analysis of WLAN. This system bases on C/S structure, including two parts:the server module and the client module. The server module includes data acquisition module and alarm implement module. The data acquisition module uses multi thread technology and it can collect data very efficiently based on simple network management protocol (SNMP). And the alarm implement module gives multi dimension alarms on AP, hot point and the whole network, improving the defects of the traditional WLAN network management alarm oriented simple device. The client module mainly includes the network data presentation, service parameters configuration, reports statistic, the equilibrium analysis of AC, system management and maintenance modules. The equilibrium analysis of AC module uses the method of independent index analysis and multivariate statistical analysis, and makes a comprehensive evaluation to the AC equilibrium of performance from different points, avoiding the one sidedness of single index evaluation. This system uses Windows operating system as development platform, Microsoft Visual Studio2010as the development tool, C++as the development language and Microsoft SQL Server2008as the database.The designed WLAN network monitoring and controlling system has been running for about one half year in the WLAN network of one subsidiary of china mobile company, monitoring110ACs and65,000APs instantly. The data collecting size is15minutes. It meets the demand of monitoring and maintaining the WLAN network for the monitoring and maintenance workers, improving the level of automation WLAN network monitoring. Under the present network testing, this system runs stably and reliably, achieving the design requirements.
