In the modern network environment, with the growing number of network equipment, continued to increase network complexity, network security issues are also increasingly prominent. Therefore, the network and its equipment must be managed and monitored in order to maximize the network’s function and efficiency.Web-based graphical Monitoring can bring network management great convenience and visual effects, simple network management protocol (SNMP) as part of the TCP/IP protocol stack has become the de facto standard, and has a very broad Application.This project is aimed at the current situation, based on the analysis of network management functions and existing network management tools, deeply study the SNMP simple network management protocol’s principles and technical methods, amply analysis of the SNMP Management Information Base (MIB) and Structure of Management Information (SMI) and SNMP abstract syntax notation (ASN.1), SNMP protocol and the protocol data unit operations, design and develop a network monitoring system based on SnmpSharpNet’s development kit under the Visual Studio2008and SQL2005 integrated platform. The system can understand the operational status of network devices, modify the parameters of network devices, query the result of network monitoring, and adjust the network monitoring strategy. The main work:1. Start a Windows Service applet, collect the network devices data using of the interface provided by SnmpSharpNet Development Kit.2. Design and implement database module and the interfaces beween database module and data acquisition module and data display module.3. Design and implement data management module, optimize the system data source and provide data backup.4. Design and implement Web browser-based backstage management page, manage and control this system.
