The video surveillance system has played a more and more important role in the current security system. In view of video surveillance has great irreplaceable visual performance, it can provide service for the important place, such as factories, schools, and banks where have intensive population. So we can draw up contingency plans quickly when have movement damage the security systemWith the growing popularity of Internet technology, video surveillance has become an inevitable trend to expand to it. It not only saves the cost of the system design, but also improves the stability of the system. First, digital coding image processing has used in transmission process. It only saves the network broadband resources and storage space, but also makes the system has high stability and anti-interference. Second, the construction of the system can use the current network resources. So it saves system cost without lay a separate line monitoring.Linux has the congenital superiority in network and it covers almost all commonly used network communication protocol. Its kernel is simple and open source code, so it is the first choice for high performance operating system in embedded products. As for the forefront of technology, Linux and embedded system are developed rapidly in recent years and combining of them will have very broad prospect for development. This system is one of the typical applications of embedded system and Linux and the products will have a convenient way to upgrade.The emergence of video coding technology has accelerated the development of networked video surveillance system. The efficient coding technology is a good solution to the problem of real-time video transmission process. Because of the H.264technology has a high data compression ratio, it has used in many projects. The system selected B/S framework as the design mode. It researches and analyses some key problems in the acquisition, coding and transmission. According to the monitoring terminal functional requirements, this system chooses ARM11as the core of hardware platform and chooses Linux as the core of the software platform, then introduces the building transplanting details of development environment. In order to coordinate system execution efficiency, it has carried on some module division for system function and introduced as follows:Image capture module, the Linux kernel uses built-in USB camera driver of V4L2to complete the image acquisition. Image coding module, adopt the hardware encoder of ARM11to carrying on image coding. Image transmission module, setting up Boa server and using the stream media protocol of RTP/RTCP to transmitting compressed image dates; Monitoring and warning module, using the motion target detection algorithm of image to realization the function of intelligent monitoring. Carry on the client stream media display by VLC plug-in technology. Finally, some functions of the system have been tested.
