Fieldbus is one of the hot topics in automation application. It has promoted the rapid development of industrial control technology. Among them, Profibus bus is the most widely used field-bus in China. With the development of PC and Ethernet technology, the integration of industrial automation system into the Ethernet system has been becoming a trend in the field of automation.The objective of this thesis is to realize the network communication function in Profibus-DP Master Class1, including hardware and software. In hardware design, two Ethernet controllers are extended onto the DP class1master so as to achieve network redundancy and reliability. In software design, LwIP protocol will be transplanted into uC/OS-II Operating System platform in DP Class1Master so as to implement Ethernet communication primarily, including transplanting LwIP protocol and coding for Network Interface Card driving. The configuration work for DP Class1Master and slaves is implemented by Ethernet communication. Meanwhile, the UPnP service based on XML transmission is achieved.Finally, the designed hardware and software is tested, including Network Card initialization, the network connectivity between the DP master and PC, and so on. It is shown from test results that the Ethernet communication can be effectively implemented on the DP Class1Master.
