Open source network management software, with its advantages of the low cost and simpleinstallation, has gained more and more attentions. However, the open source network managementsoftware is typically limited by its open source platform and it also has the problems of inadequatefunctions and lack of technical support. Therefore, the research of the open source networkmanagement software and its improvement has important significance.Through the investigation and comparison of current network management solutions, thisthesis selects Nagios as the research object, designs and implements an open source networkmanagement system based on agent based on Nagios. By using porting technology and ports theproxy software to the embedded environment, it solves the problem that Nagios cannot be appliedin the embedded devices. By suing plug-in technology and PHP technology, the historical statisticalfunctions are added to the system. By using the way of dynamic graphic display interface, theproblem that the system user interface is not friendly enough is solved; and by using the custommonitoring script, the functional flexible extension of network management software‘is realized.Function testing, reliability testing as well as performance testing are performed for theextended network management system, the test results show that the system can realize the functionof the real-time monitoring and management, and it has high adaptability to the changing networkenvironment, the system response time is fast. The results also show that the system has highreliability and high efficiency, and it can satisfy user requirements. |
