Study And Design Of Embedded Managed Agent For Optical Burst Switching Network Core Nodes

Optical burst switching technology is a promising switching technology. It is a tradeoff between optical circuit switching and optical packet switching. Meanwhile, it avoids each of its shortcomings. It is more flexible and has higher bandwidth utilization than OCS, and it is more feasible than OPS.The study target of this thesis is the network management of OBS network. The research work is mainly focused on the network management of OBS core node based on its requirements. We have designed the system architecture for the managed agent of the core node, the communication interface between it and the OBS control card and the software architecture to implement the system based on platform of the embedded system. An OBS sub tree is added to the Management Information Base (MIB) to meet the requirements of OBS network management. Some related managed objects at the OBS core node are defined.
