Currently, the embedded devices are widely used in the Internet, and they have much superiority in applying in the network. Hence we can coclude that the period of embedding Internet is coming, which brings up us other problems, such as network management for these devices. However, the embedded devices have so many limitations, such as short of resources, weak computing abilities, etc. that we can't copy the theories and technologies used in the traditional network management, and it really becomes a challenge for the global network managers to bring forward a new-style network management technology, which can adapte the high-speed development of the embedding period.In this thesis, as the developing trend of the embedding Internet is introduced, the specialties of the embedded devices and the concept of the embedded network management are analyzed, and then the differences between the embedded network management and the traditional network management are definitely pointed out. Meanwhile, the protocol used for managing the embedded devices—SNMP is described from its developing phase to each version's characteristics and applying, followly, a model for the embedded network management is put forwarded. Under these foundations, a system for automatically creating embedded agent for network management is advanced;also the architecture and the functions of this system are explained in detail. In realizing this system, there are three key technologies, they are amply discussed. Finally, the core technology, the working model for embedded agent and the message dealing, is emphatically depicted. The system, developed in this paper, provide a unified platform for developing the interfaces for the third party, and the users can burn the embedded agent into the embedded device through the serial port by this system, besides, this system can load the given MIB files, and create the needed embedded agent based on SNMP. Hence, this system can improve the efficiency for developing embedded devices for the equipment manufacturers. |
