TD-SCDMA is one of the international3G standards, which is proposed by China and holds self-owned independent intellectual property. With the advantage of leading technology, high spectrum efficiency and global roaming, it’s not only suitable for various symmetric and asymmetric business, but also highly cost effective in network and terminal constructing. Due to the complexity and flexibility of radio broadcasting environment and the characteristics of3G networks, network planning and optimization has become a major concern of network operators.As to network planning, this thesis firstly introduces some key technologies in TD-SCDMA, such as duplex, multiple access, power control, smart antenna, joint detection, relay switching and dynamic channel allocation, as well as making an analysis of the influence of wireless network coverage and its capacity. At the same time, it also presents the process of TD-SCDMA wireless network planning, and analyzes in detail the key procedure of calculating network capacity and link budget. Finally, the actual completion of TD-SCDMA wireless network planning in Guangzhou west area is shown. Coverage, service and quality status for TD-SCDMA wireless network in Guangzhou west area are analyzed, and then the planning scheme is proposed to find out the network problems. Through simulation and analysis, the planning scheme is verified.In the network optimization, firstly, based on the analysis of some wireless network optimization parameters (such as capacity, coverage, dropping) in TD-SCDMA network, ideas and guiding principles of wireless network optimization in TD-SCDMA are put forward from the aspects of coverage, handover, interference and load. Secondly, the thesis researches the optimization process of TD-SCDMA wireless network. In view of topics about the weak coverage, over-cell coverage, the island effect, pilot pollution, handover and intra system interference, reasons, impact and measures are further analyzed. Besides, cases are separately given for each subject.
